Among the members of The Finger Lakes Chorus is a quartet called The Geneva Convention. The quartet is somewhat of a phenomenon. Four guys, from four very different walks of life, who don't really even live that close together, and have rehearsed probably less than 12 hours in over a year! With their busy lives, its hard to find the time to get together and do what they love best, barbershop harmony! This unlikely combo is made up of the individual talents of
- one folicly impaired baritone, Keith, who has spent most of his life in the construction trade in one form or another (mostly the human form). He directs one "Lean Mean Singin" Machine" known as The Finger Lakes Chorus, in Geneva. One really cool thing about Keith (besides his head) is that his Stepson Joe sings in the chorus with him! How cool is that? (We'll tell you later).
- one over achieving tenor, Todd (better known as Spanky), who enjoys singing gospel and jazz, but will throw in his barbershop tenor when necessary! We won't tell you that he sells real estate, but his cards are available if you're even thinking about buying or selling your property! (void in Missouri)
- one remarkably dapper (he made us say that) lead, Peter, who shares in the direction of that awesome chorus in Geneva! He always has to "one up" Keith, so his twins sons sing in the chorus as well! (reference from above... this is even cooler...) If you're feeling at all insecure, Peter has been installing all types of electronic security systems for over 20 years. His cards are also available!
- and last, but certianly not least, our amazing lead (no) baritone (no) BASS! That's It! George has sung with and competed with more choruses, and in more voice parts, than anyone we know! He even has a real, International gold medal!! Holy cow! In his real life, he is one of those" I.T." guys that do something that the rest of us don't understand. The proof that George is an avid barbershopper.... with the arrival of his last child, he's got a quartet at home! (That doesn't even include himself!) We're not sure if he knows what causes this, but he seems to be happy...
Our quartet would LOVE to entertain you -- just let us know you'd like to hire us, and we'll work out the details!
